Russula receives order from ArcelorMittal Long Carbon Division

Russula is pleased to announce that it has received an order from ArcelorMittal Long Carbon , in Vinton, TX for the supply of a new automation system for their divide shear. The aim of the project is to replace the existing obsolete automation system and to increase cut accuracy and yield.

Russula will supply the new shear control, implemented in an ABB AC800M PLC. In addition, Russula will supply a new WonderWare HMI system and all required additional sensors. Russula is responsible for installation supervision, commissioning and training.

Start up is scheduled for November, 2009.

This new contract is part of an on-going improvement of this facility by Russula . To date, other upgrades have included Level 1 and 2 control for the reheat furnace and modernization of several millstand drives.
Russula has previously provided reheat furnace automation to ArcelorMittal Long Carbon in Tultitlan, Mexico.
