Nucor Steel Seattle increases cut reliability by upgrading 3 shears

Russula is pleased to announce that it has received an order from Nucor Steel Seattle Inc. in Seattle, WA for the supply of new automation for their three shears. The aim of the project is to replace the existing obsolete automation system and to increase cut reliability.

Russula will supply the new shear controls, implemented in Siemens Simotion Controllers. In addition, Russula will supply the engineering and automation modifications to convert two of the existing loop scanners to more standard Delta scanners.

Russula is responsible for installation supervision, commissioning and training.

Start up is scheduled for December, 2009.

Russula has previously upgraded all the mill stands and auxiliary AC and DC drives for Nucor Seattle .
