Zone II - Decanting of Sludge and Oil Elimination
Main Functions: Elimination of small particles, greases and oils coming from the scale pit or from the receiver pool.
Sludge Removal: The particles that settle at the bottom of the decanting basin are dragged by a sludge scraper and these particles go directly to the sludge pit of the decanting basin. At the pit vertical submergible pumps are installed. These pumps will impel the sludge to the thickener tank.
Oil Removal: The oils that remains at the surface of the decanting basin are removed by the bridge scraper to the oil skimmer where a circular belt drags the oils to the oil tank. The oil that is not removed in the oil tank, is pumped to the sludge thickener tank to be further separated.
