Russula has supplied a new water treatment plant for a mill located in the USA. It is a greenfield installation built adjacent to the existing mill. The new facility treats and cools water that comes in direct contact with the production of merchant bars, rebar, rounds, flats, and angles and indirect cooling for the rolling mill furnace.
The scope of supply included basic engineering, mechanical and electrical equipment. Basic engineering included mechanical, electrical, and civil for the contact, non-contact and make-up water circuits. The layout is divided into four areas; scale pit, decanting, filtering and cooling.
Commissioning and testing of the water treatment plant are completed, and the plant is up and running. This is the 21st water treatment plant, designed and supplied by Russula, operating worldwide.
