Russula donates plants to Nelly Sachs Haus after METEC
After the METEC exhibition a good portion of the 3000 remaining plants were donated to the Nelly Sachs Haus, an elderly care center located 1.3 km from Messe Düsseldorf. The rest were donated to a non-profit youth center in Holland.
In recognition of the diligent improvements steel producers have made to reduce their impact on the environment over the years, Russula's booth at METEC this year displayed a living wall created by more than 3000 individual plants.
Russula keeps protection and conservation of the environment at the forefront of their technology development. The company's water treatment plant, exclusively for the steel industry, is designed to reuse water and reduce external requirements. The same philosophy to conserve the environment was applied to the Russula marketing initiative at METEC.
Towards the end of the five day exhibition Russula sent out a tweet and instagram to invite all visitors to take a free plant. Afterwards, a good portion of the more than 3000 remaining plants were donated to the Nelly Sachs Haus, an elderly care center located 1.3 km from Messe Düsseldorf. The rest were donated to a youth center in Holland.
We were thrilled to find good homes for these plants, where they can be enjoyed by the residents of Nelly Sachs for years to come while supporting the non-profit youth center.
