Gerdau Petersburg drives upgrade for saws

Gerdau Petersburg awarded Russula a contract to upgrade the saw drives in the bar mill. The main goal is to replace the existing soft starter equipment with new modern first line starters which will improve performance, ease the operation & fault tracing and facilitate training and spare parts management.

The project scope encompases hot saws 1 and 2 and the shiftable cold saw. A fast, sequenced, consistent replacement and commissioning of the new equipment will help the mill return to production as quickly as possible.
