Structural steel mill undergoes electrical upgrade

Russula upgraded the drives and motors of the roughing area of a structural steel mill. The mill produces angles, flat bars and channels. The roughing mill, drives and motors, stands 1-5 and the descaling system were all part of the upgrade. Russula supplied new AC motors and drives, engineering, installation supervision, commissioning and product support and spare parts.

The electrical equipment was pre-assembled in new cabinets and factory tested in the Russula workshop prior to shipping to the customer site. This reduced on-site field connections and accelerated the switchover process. After the electrical upgrade in 2020, the mill returned smoothly to operations.
