Liberty Steel & Wire improves production with Mill Pulse®

Located in Peoria, IL, USA, Liberty Steel & Wire is currently implementing Russula's Mill Pulse® suite, the manufacturing execution system solution designed exclusively for rolling steel. The MES solution is part of the broader scope of an electrical and automation upgrade for the two-wire rod mill to improve mill performance, plant-wide information gathering and reporting. Mill Pulse® MES will interface with the new Russula automation system. The project is currently in the design phase. Implementation and startup are scheduled for the fall of 2023. 

Mill Pulse® will enable Liberty Steel & Wire to organize production and plant tracking, manage raw materials and finished products, collect and control data, reporting and KPI monitoring. It will provide Liberty with a simple, consistent and intuitive tool to pace production; having a global view of the production rate provides an efficiency target for the rolling mill staff to meet end customer demand. Mill Pulse® will also simplify the internal change or setup procedure by eliminating non-essential operations, creating standardized work orders and checklists assigned to user roles within Mill Setup.
