On February 3rd, 2017, after cold commissioning, technical specialists from Silat and Russula rolled the first wire rod in coil. Located in Fortaleza, Brazil, the new single-strand wire rod mill produces 5.5-16 mm wire rod and rebar in coils, complementing Silat’s current production capability of 8-32 mm straight reinforcing bar for a total capacity of 600,000 tpy. Russula supplied the complete rebar and wire rod mill.

Located in Darlington, SC, Nucor Steel South Carolina has replaced thirteen stand drives of its bar mill number 2. Russula provided the electrical equipment and engineering and on-site services of installation, supervision and commissioning.

Russula was honored to welcome distinguished visitors to its booth during the exhibition of ALACERO (Latin American Steel Association) in Rio de Janeiro last October 2016.

Aceros Alfa contracted Russula for a major upgrading of its Honduras plant. Located in San Pedro Sula Honduras, the rolling mill produces reinforcing bar, squares, angles and H beams, for local consumption and regional exportation. Russula provided all the electrical equipment, control software and process knowledge necessary to transform Aceros Alfa into one of the largest and most automated plants in Central America.

Russula has supplied a water treatment plant to Gerdau in Sayreville, NJ. In the redesign, the plant reuses sections of the existing equipment configuration to treat process water coming from the contact cooling circuit of the 800,000 tpy mill.

Russula is proud to be chosen by İÇDAŞ Steel, the third largest long product producer in Turkey to upgrade the shear control system for its Bar mill #3 and its two strand wire rod mill #4. Each mill is fed by a 120 ton/hr reheat furnace and the two mills have a combined production capacity of 1.4 Mtpy. İÇDAŞ is located in Biga, in the Marmara region of Turkey.

Steve Pegg, General Manager of Russula in North America, was awarded a plaque by Rick Wood of CMC Alabama during the last Globe-trotters meeting on August 30th in Myrtle Beach. The plaque was in recognition of his dedicated service over the past three years in the AIST Globetrotters Committee.

London Stock Exchange Group has identified Russula as one of 1000 Companies to Inspire Europe, an annual report published in celebration of the fastest-growing and most dynamic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK and Europe.

Russula is leading a research project to develop new integrated technologies for hot rolling mills.
