Developed and implemented in 2021, Mill Pulse® is currently running the Delay Tracking and Production Management and Scheduling modules. The Manufacturing Execution System, designed exclusively for the rolling process, has been adapted to the plant’s requirements, to manage the different product ranges, spooler coils and bars. All modules are integrated into a single suite for production management and downtime control. This year Celsa Nervacero and Russula will implement the Roll Shop, Mill Setup, Maintenance and Quality modules. The additional modules will allow the management and planning of the workshop activities (internal and external), the organization of product changes, preventive maintenance, and automatic data acquisition from the plant equipment.

Mill Pulse® allows complete traceability of the plant’s production, from billets to finished product labeling. It also provides daily and customized reports that allow better decision making and optimize production and work efficiency.

As part of the Celsa Group’s broader digitalization roll-out to improve data integration, Celsa Nervacero is the second plant to have implemented the Mill Pulse® suite, following Celsa Atlantic in Laracha. The Mill Pulse® suite was also installed in the new rolling mill at the Celsa France Boucau-Tarnos steelworks in 2023. Now that the three Celsa Group plants are running Mill Pulse®, production data will be consistent and KPI metrics will be easy to share between plants.
