Improve mill performance with Russula’s custom equipment solutions

Russula develops custom rolling equipment for plant upgrades and new mills. Leveraging our extensive process know-how and 34 years of proven experience in the steel industry, our engineering specialists design equipment to improve mill performance. Combining quality improvement, production uptime, lifecycle performance and optimization of resources and equipment is a sure method to reduce conversion costs and reach environmental sustainability.

The Russula approach to streamlining operational efficiency in rolling mills
  • Onsite survey and root cause discussion with plant team
  • Process, equipment, and automation assessment
  • Co-developed improvement strategy - identify what equipment, connections, and instrumentation can be reutilized, what needs to be refurbished and what needs to be replaced
  • New equipment and automation supply and integration
  • Logistics – on-time delivery and site preparation
  • Startup strategy maximizes production uptime
    • Pre-assembly and testing off-site
    • Off-line assembly parallel to production
    • Experienced startup support engineers

The project case below is exemplary of the Russula approach to technological and engineering innovation. To reduce the impact on wire rod production schedule, the revamp project was implemented in multiple phases. It began with extensive on-site surveys, assessments, discussions, and idea exchanges between the plant and Russula team. A rigorous process was followed to identify the root causes of operational inefficiencies and a plan was proposed and implemented to remedy them.
